It is really excited to have published my first website this last week. Although it is not anywhere near done, its really exciting to my very own website. Having my own website creates an exciting opportunity to express myself and what I’m interested in that I am unable to do in the extent…

I use Dreamweaver too. Love it most of the time.

The power of press releases should not be underestimated.
Part of the reason that press releases can send so much jusice to a website is that MOST people with sites are just TOO LAZY to do them.
It’s not that it’s HARD so much, as it takes a little thought to come up with a good solid release.
So those that take the time to create a good readable press release with actual value in announcing something can be rewarded with good traffic and good links from sites that report about you or syndicate and publish your press release on their site.
If you haven’t ever done a press release for your website - make sure that you do at least one to announce it so you can see how much you get back for that little bit of brain work.

Spotify sucks.
It’s tough when something you love goes bad.
In this case I loved Spotify and used it constantly but now after the update they made a few months ago it is slow and unresponsive. Even if I start it up and walk away and come back it’s still NOT READY to play music. Before the update I never noticed LAGS or slow startups - it worked fine until they made the major version change. and it seems after a few months that they are NOT listening and are committed to what they have. SAD to see a company be so blind and ignore the users and be considerate of their poor USER EXPERIENCE. Sorry Spotify - but you just opened it up to the competition to snag your hard earned user base.
Spotify sucks (it used to be great)
Spotify is slow - update goes backwards

Wordpress security emergency! Rename ADMIN!!!
OK - so you may have seen the emails about all the extra hacking that’s been going on targeting Wordpress blogs. Well - a big problem is that most users set up their blogs using admin as the username.
The hackers know this and they are hitting WP blogs hard trying to gain access using admin to login.
This solution from wordfence describes HOW to change your profile form using admin as the login.
Yes - it’s a hassle - but really worth the time to change your admin logins to something else! Also while you’re at it - make your passwords a little longer and they’ll be much harder to crack!
To rename your WordPress ‘admin’ user:

Sign in as ‘admin’.
Create a new user using the steps below.
Choose a hard-to-guess username, but don’t make it so difficult that you’ll forget it.
Make that user’s role “administrator”.
Choose a password that has upper and lower-case letters and numbers in it. Symbols are OK too. Never use the word ‘password’ in your password, even if it has a different case and includes numbers.
Click “Add new user”.
Sign out as ‘admin’.
Sign in as the new user.
Delete your old ‘admin’ user and assign all posts/pages/comments to your new admin user.
Congratulations, you now have a more secure WordPress system.

It’s a shame that Spotify is not listening to the people who are it’s biggest fans.
